During lockdown a composer struggles with isolation and nightmares of his dead parents and while searching for his mother’s grave believes he is being followed by a shadow. He discovers a headstone with his partner’s name and death date on and is convinced this and the shadow are indicating an end to his relationship. His ex wife reminds him of his mother’s story about a shadow hare and his daughter tells him it is the foreteller of death. He believes his alter ego is questioning him and that his daughter is encouraging him to leave his present wife. As the hallucinations become more real his views and behaviour become more extreme, the stakes get higher and his world unravels leading to a radical outcome.
